C&C Drums

All I can say is wow! This is the first kit I've acquired that's been made in this century. Here we have a C&C 12th & Vine kit. They have 5ply maple/poplar/maple shells with 7ply maple re-rings. I'm not sure what the finish is called, but it's gorgeous. It also has wood hoops for the toms. Check out that tom mount, simple, but efficient.

That looks like a Gibraltar rail mount by Dunnett, it's great. A thin cymbal felt is good under the rubber on the part resting on the bd

I'm not sure who makes the rail mount, but it works great. C&C, unlike a lot of companies, make their own shells and are reminiscent of vintage drums with greater attention to detail.

I've been wanting one of these for a long time, it's absolutely gorgeous and they sound incredible.

Nice and natural, just the way they should be. I believe they were motivated to capture that vintage vibe, and it looks like they did.

You must have traded everything you had for them??

It's funny you mention that. I had my re-wrapped Slingerland and pre-serial duco Ludwig on Austin cl. The Ludwig had a Rocker floor tom that was re-finished to match, so neither kit was original and I had about $500 in each kit. This guy in Austin texted me and asked if I would trade both kits for this C&C. He had the kit on cl a few months ago, so I'd seen it before. It was a no brainer, I packed up the drums and met him the next day.

Here's a few more pictures I just took today, they are everything I'd thought they'd be. They sound very much like vintage Ludwigs, but tune up much easier. The toms are warm and the kick has a nice full tone.

Ya, they are pretty cool. I may also buy this Super Flyer kit from the same guy I got these from. They have mahogany shells like the Player Date.
