The Camco's to be re-finished are mid 70s, L.A. era. It's a 10pc. double bass prog rock set with 2, 24" bass drums, 10,12,12, & 13" rack toms and 14,16, & 18" floor toms with the matching 6.5x14" model #452 L.A. Camco snare drum. Please Vote for the finish you think would look the best and fit that sort of a kit.

I am the WMP dude. because it's as close to Silver Sparkle as you give as an option... (gotta think about some dynamic Stage Lighting)..

That's interesting you would pick the one that is closest to the one I really want and can't get. I kept looking for a wrap that isn't available. DW used it years ago and as close as I can describe it would be Ruby Sparkle or the color of garnets, or the inside of a pomegranate.. Darker red than red glass glitter, which is more fire engine red. I know it was the foundation of Neil Pearts 1st DW kit ( not that I am a fan of NP in any way, shape, or form.) Just wish I could buy some of the wrap DW used for his set. Yes I already asked them through my retailer out of Salt Lake, and the answer was no, that it is specially made for DW by Delmar.

I seriously considered Silver Sparkle but the Oaklawn Camco's/ prog set is getting wrapped in Silver Glass now..The Silver Glass doesn't really look silver to me at all, looks more like ginger ale....
I voted for the Walnut because I am a wood person and do a lot of staining and finishing. It will be interesting to see how you go about it if you choose the stain.

As a child of the seventies, I voted for Alice Cooper white.
A 10 pc 70's Rock kit should have a 70's finish,...
I tell you,... Sling's next step will be the 2 horizontal bass drums just like Pentti "Whitey" Glan.
BRING IT ON !!!!
Glan's kit is what I think of when I think of Camco by the way. Didn't he eventually add a harlequin type finish to that kit at some point? Perhaps it was just rectangles at a 45 degree angle. Saw him with Alice Cooper (but not with Alice Cooper white) in '77.
If you want to look into a deeper red sparkle you could have Drummaker create one for you. Pretty much any red you might want over glass or sparkle.
I voted walnut because I think it would look classy and, let's face it, Camco's are classy. It will look good no matter what you decide. I will say that to me, pearl finishes are best left on smaller kits. It harkens back to days of swing when men used 1 up and 1 down or 1 up and 2 down unless you were Louie Bellson. ...oh nevermind...

I'm wondering if you'll be able to match the walnut stain shade throughout the kit. By the way, Camco's factory walnut stain is one of my favorites, but I voted for black in this project.
I voted white lacquer by default, but any thing but the wrap would great.
Being a sound first guy, I think it would be a travesty to wrap these if the shell is good enuf to be stained/lacquered.
