I may be trading a few drums for this Camco kit. It was originally owned by Jerry Garcia who made Garcia drums and ran Seattle Drum Shop. The current owner said Jerry re-wrapped them, plugged the holes, re-cut the edges and added the tuxedo lugs twenty five years ago. The 13, 22 are Chanute and the 16 is early LA, all drums have 4ply shells with rings and white interiors. Having never owned a Camco, I'm very interested in making this trade. I'd be giving up my sbp Slingerland, a C&C Players Date snare and $150. I'm not sure if that's a good deal, but I really like the look of this kit.

Chanute and LA 4-ply?? Did you mean to say 6-ply?
The owner said 4ply.
Ok, that would make them pretty unique. Only early Oaklawn had 4-ply, as far as I know.
Chanute era were 6 ply Jasper, and LA switched to 6 ply Keller.
George Way and early 60s Oaklawn were 4 ply and mid 60s 6 ply , Chanute also 6 ply all by Jasper . Then with the switch to LA they were 6 ply Keller . Also that FT should not be painted inside the LA shells were not painted . With all the filled holes rewrapping and painting of the inside on the FT not to mention recut edges and tuxedo lugs I would not do that trade .
I believe you're right, I have never owned a Camco so initially the deal was appealing. But, after more thought, I'm going to pass. There's another Oaklawn kit nearby in a black finish, he's asking a bit more, but I'll give that one a shot, thanks.
Here's the Oaklawn Camco, 12,14,20, any ideas on a fair price? Thanks.
Yeah, none of my business, but those yellow camcos don't do it for me. The modern flame wrap and heavy-duty hardware looks strange juxtiposed with those long single lugs. The black set looks pretty classy. They both probably sound good, though.
