Camco Drums

From DrumBob

Yellow is not my thing at all, but if you like them, that's what matters.

I already passed on the gold satin flame, I'm thinking about buying the black kit.

For those sizes, if they would still have had their original wrap they would have been worth double what he’s asking. I’m no fan of black lacquer, but soundwise they should still be fantastic, and the price is in line with their current state.

I have absolutely no clue about Camco drums, except that they are the precursors to the current DW's, and are worth a lot of money in decent to great condition. That black kit is freaking awesome, even if it isn't 100% original. I love black on drums. It's very classy and mean looking at the same time. The great thing about Camco is that DW's hardware will look great with it, and i know that this is a no-no among you Camco purists, but the DW's rim system will fit perfectly and will look modern and vintage at the same time. But that's just me. I like blending modern with vintage, so long as the modern is a throw-back to the vintage kits. Hope you enjoy them !

Cheers,

Rob

That kit should sound killer. Just a couple of other mentions besides the t-rods, looks like the floor tom legs are not original and all the bottom hoops. I would not put it pass the original owner took off the bottom heads during the concert tom era and misplaced them like hundreds of other kits in that era. This is not to bum you out but figured you might like to know. Congrats you have a well built kit from the 60’s.

I haven't actually bought the kit yet, after finding out about the wrap being removed, I'm still debating whether to buy them or look for another Ludwig.

Mark, didn't you have a Camco kit, a silver sparkle at one time ( I think I was trying to trade for them) ? If you do go for these keep in mind the parts are hard to find, the guys that do have them want to trade for other Camco parts rather then sell, for the most part.

Thank you!

I've never owned a Camco kit, that's the reason I'm interested in buying it.
