I talked to his brother Tony, on the phone once..

Met his ex wife Pearl Bailey,and his last wife....both in Chicago....Pearl in 1975..in the lobby of The Ambassador East hotel....

Last wife,a few years ago at the Chicago Show....

Sorry for the slightly OT question, but I saw a pic here recently of a snare with a pair of Rogers Louie Bellson model brushes that had plastic tips on the back sides. Can anybody tell me when these were made and does anybody make something similar today? I have rods with plastic tips on the middle strands, but these would be the bees knees!

By plastic tips... are you speaking of the other end? Clayton Cameron brushes, 593C, Regal-Tip. Or, perhaps I'm not understanding your query...

Yes, they were wooden handled brushes that were reversible so you could play sticks or brushes.
