Anyone knowledgeable on Walberg & Auge?

Jeremy Esposito recently purchased the name, has a historical site, is working on a book, and is making some new drums. This is the website - http://www.walbergandauge.com/about-us

I met Jeremy a few years ago while working at The Village Drum and Music in RI. He brought in a few kits for restoration work and is super passionate about this project and vintage drums in general!

As an aside regarding French pronunciations......In 1968, I went through a two week training seminar in Philadelphia for newly hired representavies of a pharmaceutical company that had just hired me to represent them in Chicago. One of my fellow participants was a man from New Orleans with the very common last name for that part of the country--Hebert. He was politely quick to correct people who pronounced the name as "hee bert". The name is pronounced as "ay bear". Fast forward a couple years. My wife and I took a vacation trip to New Orleans. We phoned my friend to arrange a get-together. We were staying at a historic old hotel in the French Quarter.

Hebert: "Where y'all staying"?

Moi: " At the Provincial in the French Quarter".

Hebert: "I know the place, but don't remember what street it's on".

Moi: " It's on Chartres (pronounced by me as "shar tre)"

Hebert: "What street is that"?

Moi: "Chartres (shar tre)". I spelled it out for him C-H-A-R-T-R-E-S

Hebert: " Oh...You mean CHARTERS"!

So much for assuming that the locals speak French like the folks in France.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Thanks. Unfortunately, when we bought a new cottage to downsize our lives in retirement, I needed to reduce the size of my vintage drum collection. As much as I liked that set, I reasoned that it was the "newest" of my W&A sets. So, I sold that one. I also bundled the Salmon Satin Flame W&A set with another player's set to trade for one extremely nice set. I now have just the one W&A set--the Gold Sparkle (glitter?) set. I don't rule out acquiring another W&A drum set if I see one that trips my drum trigger.

Am I incorrect, or was the person behind the widely noted RGB initials a mystery before this thread?

It was not really a mystery, but just not widely known. What is not known (at least by me) is when the date was inscribed inside the shell. Was it on the day the drum was completed? Was it on the day that the drum was shipped from the factory?

WOW, I am so humbled to hear from you. I am a huge Walberg & Auge drum fan. I have 2 kits: a '66 BOP with a '67 BDP snare, and a '68 Gold Glitter with the snare. My brother had a blue sparkle kit in the late '60's (kicks himself for ever selling it). As a player and enthusiast these drums blow my mind. To add to the thrill, I was born and raised in Worcester, the home of the greatest drums in the world! Please tell us more!

Your brother's name wouldn't happen to be Victor, would it?

There's even a photo of him in the shop on the new W&A website, and also on Jeremy's W&A Facebook page.
