Nice to see them all together. Super cool Jeff. I think it's safe to say your the only kid on the block with a set of those! You should send Ludwig some pics of them. I think they'd dig em too.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
Thank you everyone for the nice comments! I will post one more pic of the kit when I get the last drum mounted. Sorry for all the little boring replies along the way. I have had fun putting these together and you guys show much more interest than anyone around here, so I had fun sharing the experience with people that really care about what I'm doing, so thank you. One more pic coming soon then were done here.
Thank you!

Ok, last set of pictures. I took these with a flash when it was dark outside, it captured the true color of the kit. I hope to do this again one day but it will be a while, cant afford to keep doing this. Plus I have a couple of projects to do for some others, I will probably start threads on those, one is a Hayman kit from California, the other is for Bill and will be my version of Ludwigs thermogloss finish over his veneered drum shells.
Also, I am trying out a suspension mounted tom. When I bought the shells from Billnvick it was a 13,16,22 kit and he threw in the marching drum shell (it had a b/o badge) that I made the snare from. Then I added the 18, then the 14. I will likely end up suspending the 13", I only purchased one mount just try it out, and I do like it. I wanted to leave the bass drum virgin, that why the suspension mount.
Thanks for following the thread!
Thank you!

Jeff,
Just fantastic work. Really beautiful and unique drums. Like the Rogers koa kit, these are arguably nicer than when they left the factory floor.
Did I miss something in this thread about badges and vents?
Longjohn, I bet you were reading that tattoo upside down, but the sentiment is spot on. "WOW"!

Well since you asked, I did not drill the holes out for the vent grommets except for the 18, which you can see in the pic. The grommets I bought were too short. So then I got to thinking how some of the drums in my Sligerland kit has no vent holes or badges, so I just forgot about them for the time being. I will get the proper length grommets someday but Im not worried about badges. Although I have thought about some custom mad badges! The drums sound great so what will the air vents add to it?
I do like the Gibraltar hardware!
Thank you!

That's really stellar work. Much nicer than the current Ludwig Signet line they just introduced. JCC you should be working for Ludwig :)
Thank you!
