Jeff - If Ludwig had used -that- finish on it's own drums, they would have sold thousands and thousands of those kits! The drums came out spectacular. Great work, nice job.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

WOW WOW WOW!!!!! I haven't been on here in a long time. I just read this whole thread from the beginning. Jeff I am certainly humbled by your superior craftsmanship! How the hell do you butt the veneer together? Thats insane, but you did it perfectly. Sanding paint from the interiors is a monumental task! Who does that?? lol you do! I woulda painted them with stone touch spray paint to match the granitone Ludwig did around then. You say this your last restoration. Uh huh! You'll come across another kit that you can't resist rescuing! Then you'll put it somewhere till you get bored with Kitchens again. My hat's off to you. I thought I was a pretty good craftsman, but I bow down to you! Bowing

Jeff what more can anyone say ? the proof is in the finished project take care, see u at show gary

BTW I'll bet you can finish /restore drums as a side bar, you should have a booth at the show too, and pass out cards you mite of found a niche LOL

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thanks Gary, yes I have thought about having a booth at the show. Eventually I will take most of my drums there to sell and will have a booth for that.

Poppy, thanks for the nice comments, you are a drum restoration wizard, don't kid me. I have watched your projects and you are a real pro buddy.

Thank you!
