those cymbals could very well be period correct. speedmaster is correct as well. what is wrong about the bass spurs? i can't tell by the pics. they should be straight 3/8 rods that disappear into the drum.

Gold sparkle is the wrap, just got home with them. Yes it is a 8 lug jazzfest snare with the original snare and maybe original heads. I will take some photos after I clean them up.

The earlier ClubDates came with JF's AFAIK..later ones,Pioneer snares..

Funny thing..I had 2 Oyster Blue sets just like that, and don't recall any others in the past...

Congrats on getting a really nice set of drums. The bass drum hoop is an easy fix with a little carpenters glue and a few spring clamps. For $15./$20. bucks you can get some gold sparkle strips for the hoops from Precision Drum. After you polish the drums and hardware up, the kit will look good as new.

Enjoy,

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Here are some pictures. It did come with 3 flat base cymbal stands and an old flat base hihat with no foor board. Would that foot board be a speed king? Already broke down the snare for cleaning. I will post after pics when done. Someone has replaced the leather strap on the bass pedal with some weird type of strap. Is it easy to find a replacement strap.

that looks like it could be a wfl 1121 hi hat stand. the do indeed have speed king written on the pedal. its a different setup than the bass pedla though. bottom board has two bends in the front part of the mount where the rest over the leg of the stand.

if that is an 1121, it should have a rubber cup for the bottom hi hat. if that ones metal, someone has simply changed the center section i think..

Nice, nice, nice project, those will clean up killer!

I would paint the bd hoops and put some chrome inlay in them. The new gold wrap wont match good enough, unless you can find some vintage gold sparkle. I do have some but I need to see how much I have.

Nice score, Have a ball cleaning them up. Cant wait to see the finished product, but take your time and have fun.
