Gentlemen,
It's been cold up here in Canada / to say the least..
We've had the worst winter/snow/ice/subzero temps/wind...that we've ever had in the last 15 yrs++..
So working/refinishing my drums has taking a backseat..my shop is in the garage.!
Have a cpl questions I've been pondering over for the last 2weeks..
The kit in question is a..64 Roger's Cleveland/Holiday...
Sizes are..
Bass 18"x14"/ Flr 14"x14"/ Tom 12"x8" & a (13"x9"early Dayton) that I'm gonna incld to use as a backup/switchup tom.
Original wrap was bdp/but was removed from the prev owner)
The inlay wrap is present (hoops), gonna keep it.(reuse)..
* Currently its just a natural finish / up close the finish is worn dwn.!
Also, already have a set of 67 Rogers in bdp) so having 2kits the same doesn't do it for me..! (not selling either).
I'm picking up a old roger's snare (@62/63) that has the original WMP wrap/ minimal aging...!
I've asked the seller(of the snare)2 go on Precision's website & look at *White Pearl / *Vintage White Pearl & *Antique White Pearl..
So that I could wrap this kit to match the snare drum..!
(He's an experienced vintage player/collector), So I trust his opinion..
It's the Antique White Pearl..!
Figures its $75 more then the other choices,(buying sheets/cutting.
Question #1..
Should I go with the lower priced ($$) wrap.?
Being that the snare isn't seen from the crowd & the other wraps choices are easier to wrk with (thinner) & a Brighter finish.!
(I'l be using this kit on stage/not Pubs, bigger safer venues.!)
Question #2..
Gluing the wrap vs the heavy duty tape option.?
*Just asking..
Seppo does live about 45mins away..!
Pic is provided of the natural finished kit (far left)..
*I'm not a big fan of keeping it O'naturale..!
