Scott - Try some of the craft sites for a hoop! Some crafts use different sizes of metal hoops, macrame' and crocheting for example. Maybe one of the craft sites will have an 11" hoop you can use. Worth a try.

You said it *best*!
See pic of cut and brazed brass SF Rim,(it was a 12 or a 13 cut down, I think 13).I tried but could not locate an 11" SF rim. Also see pic of the original SF rim that came with the drum.I have not cleaned or polished the nickel rim.We wills see.
I see the cut-down rim has no nickel at all [nice join]. If you get that one plated, you'll kind of have to polish the other one to match. [< obvious statement brought to you by Mitch.]
Did I miss where you said what finish this will have? It's going to be killer no matter what...!
Mitch
It will be all polished nickel.
Lugs have been re-plated as well as other hardware.
The brass one will be plated for sure.
I will see how the original polishes up and may just leave it like that.
BTW..............This is a long term project. No rush for me.
Been tracking down parts for a few years now.

I guess if you're brazing a rim like this you have to remove all the plating as you can't plate just the one area around the join...?
Is that expensive, nickel plating? I'm of course a nickel plating expert, but just making sure you know...:)
Mitch
Yes, plating can be considered expensive.
But....when you get these old parts and they are transformed back to a new like state...........They look so cool.
Just checked a receipt from the platers.
11, Double sided Flat Imperial lugs re-plated in polished nickel was $100.00.
So yeah........pricey.
But you can't buy these new anymore.
