Rare size. So when I saw it in Pro Drum 2-3 years ago....I bought it.
Finally getting to it.
Stripped the black.
Under it was white or whitish gold. Under that grey primer..thick.
Inside needed to be stripped, I thought.
Was not original AFAIK. Came off much easier than the outer.
Seems like the wood was clear coated or oiled originally.
Under the white paint inside the shell, I found these ink stamps.
One, says "44" and the other "Sin. T" with what look like a stamp of nails going sideways through the bottom part of the T.
I am thinking ........year made 1944.
Do not know about Sin. T.
