AMEN to the stickers. Those will be sought out soon. Mark my words.
1977 Slingerlands
I think I would feel bad if I got rid of them. There are some memories there like the 2 times I played in a club. Lots of good times jammin in friends basements. They sound great looks like I could have second thoughts. Just haven't done much with them lately.
TommyD, I'd say if you have ANY reservations at all, to hold off on selling them; trust me, you will regret it!
I don't know about those stickers, the other fellers might be right; and if so, after a few years, the value will go up up up.
Especially now as far as selling, hold off as long as you can (economy is down evidently).
I've been watching a bunch of '70's Zildjians in ebay and, they've been going from anywhere from $40 to $190! I think marketing and overall condition impacts that a lot. But Michael is right, they seem to hover around $100.
I had no idea about the stickers on the drums making them more valuable, or is it more where they came from? I just googled Frank's Drum Shop I wanna say one of the owners sold them to me, Maurie Lishon who passed away in 2000 they go way back I guess, there is some interesting stuff to read.
You never knew who was going to be in there.(Franks) I remember being in there for my lesson and Louie Bellson was in there, cool dude! It seems there was always some famous drummer comming through town and they would stop in. Maybe the stickers wouldn't up the value but I think they are cool.
