I am thinking of putting this up for sale. Any suggestions of an asking price? This wrap is the deap blue glass glitter is perfect condition and the chrome has no pitting. The kit looks like new. It is a 20", 13", with original 14" snare. Also, it has the original bass pedal, snare stand, hi-hat stand on bass, ride stand, and on crash stand.

Sorry for the poor cell phone pics. I have also replaced the snare and tom heads with coated remos.

Thanks!

I bet you could get $600 for it to the right buyer. That "right buyer" would probably have a orphan blue glass 16 inch floor tom already.

Is the snare 8 lug or 6? If 6 make that $500+/-

Thats my experience with Slingerland lately. Blue sparkle is very common.

Hope that helps!

I think your rom is upside down too. Just FYI. Looks like a nice little kit!

True to my previous post about putting a value to a drum set offered for sale, I would not pay over $300 if the snare is an eight lugger. $250 if the snare is a six lugger. And, I love 1950's--1960's Slingerland drums.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

As a collector who has a bunch of Slingerland kits and snares already maybe, but as a dude looking for a kit like this it is worth more. Two opinions here...take them for what they are worth. Get a few more and then find the average. Thats probably the best approach. With the correct hardware the kit is not run of the mill.

Personally, Id start the bidding at $299.99 on ebay and see what happens. Or just put it on CL for $600 and take $400 for it when someone comes to your house with cash lowballing you.

Looks like a Jam Session (73N) kit. I sold one in champagne that for $500. The guy turned around and put it on ebay and it went for $700. There was no pitting and such on mine either! The blue color being common may play a small part but I think you could get some good money with some patience on CL.

HAHA. Yes, you are correct. This is the first day i brought these home and i had to take a picture because i was pretty excited. I should take some current pics so you can see the details of the wrap and chrome and how it is correctly set up.

I can see where you are coming from as that is what i would want pay too but that is because I am always looking for a deal. I have seen the 8 lug snare alone in this condition sell for over $200 on ebay and other sites. I have over multiple kits (Ludwig and Slingerland) that i have always picked up for a song but this one really stands out. The wrap is so nice with NO cracks, scratches, or chips. The chrome looks like new with zero pitting. To find a clean vintage 3 ply kit like this for $500 vrs a new PDP or Japanese kit would be a no-brainer right? Well, Slingerlands really dont get the respect as Ludwig, Rogers and others. Thanks, man.

Vintage Slingies are the Rodney Dangerfield of drums. Only we few enlightened folks give them the love they deserve. I am a self-admitted and proud bottom feeder for vintage drums. I bought the pictured 1956 krupa set with clamshell snare for $200 because the owner wanted to get rid of "this old set to make room for my new extra deep Tama set that cost me $1200".

As much as I loved this set, I traded it even up for this unusual Walberg & Auge set in a color I call Ice Blue Glass Glitter.
