1960's slingerland (?modern solo?) project. First vintage project

Loading...

Hello,

I bought a 60's slingerland kit and am going to attempt to clean and get it into playing condition. Figured I would start a thread for both the enjoyment of others and the benefit of myself and this drum kit. I would like to do this right. Any advice or links to threads that would help me are appreciated. I will try to keep anyone interested updated.

Kit: 20",16", 2-12", 1964? Ludwig supraphonic snare

Pics on the way

Pics and details. Let's see what it needs. 12/16/ 20's my go to sizes. You've got some real potential there.....

Tried to send pics, hopefully they show up. If so, I will send more. Can send more detailed pics of drums if anyone wants to see a certain area

Yah! A Supra. And, it looks pretty unpitted. Keep it, no matter what else you do. Don't argue, just do it! You'll thank me later. {or, be buying another!} Is the cracked wrap on the bottom of the bass drum?

I definately like the snare a lot! Pic is of bass sitting normal. Crack is on the side. It runs from a lug to the spur mount

Great looking kit. Hardware just appears to need tear down Dawn soak and hand polish. I'd just clean the shells. Funny how something like the wrap crack seems like a big deal at first but after all is cleaned it just turns into part of the kit. Keep us posted.

Nothing special here but I like them.
