Got a '59 mahogany from a friend of mine that was in good condition but the finish was all scratched/dinged up:

I was going to keep it all original because it sounded awesome as it was, but I really wanted to make it look nice and clean, and with the mahogany shell, there wasn't much I could do without stripping the original finish:

Then all I did was clean and polish the hardware, replaced the lugs with newer ones from a parts snare, and re-strap the snare. Heads are original (or what came on the drum when I got it).
