I use tape because if the hoops need to be refinished or sanded down the line, it is easy to remove the inlay before working on the hoop.

I would jump on the Slingerlands because of the snare and all the bits. Sounds like a sexier kit than the Ludwig.

Thoses edges look like they were cut 2 minutes ago. I do not understand the re rings because even if the drum was from the 50's, it wouldn't have that...

Double sided superthin carpet tape for the test. I was pretty sure that the diamonds were coming off sooner or later.

Yes Compact drums, but i have decided to leave them natural. I think that the full dress stuff looks better on painted drums with matching colors.
