From Drummy Drummerson

I'm gonna show my wife all your replies. Then she'll see that owning about 6 cymbals isn't so crazy after all. Maybe she'll even let me get a few more!Um, Mikey, over 400 cymbals? Eye Ball Bit of a silly question here ... uh, why? Hmm, care to sell any?

You asked D.D. why well being a working drummer for over 35 years and have played 1,000's of shows, 1,000's of recordings..I find that no two cymbals sound the same, my live shows i used always new Zild's but when it comes to recording i take alot of them with me say like a 16" crash i will bring 30-40 of them to fine the sound the recording needs same goes for all the other cymbals other crash ones,rides,hi-hats,ete....My cymbal size's run from 6" up to 26"-- even and odd inchs--Also all the cymbal's i used in recording are from 20s-70s..Live shows late 80s to now 2010...Oh i don't sell many cymbals at all over the years maybe sold 50 of them tops...Mikey

Oh man! I would love to hang out at your place for a few days. Could learn more about the sound of the old Zildjians at your house in a day or two, then years of buying /trying them out. I just love the old z`s. I just bought some more this week. I think I have around 20 or so. Wife has been looking at me "out the side of her face" the last few days. LOL!

Not as many as I used to have, but the percent of AWESOME cymbals out of the bunch has gone up. Each awesome in their own way, which is why I have so many. How many do I NEED? Not as many as I have, that's for sure!

Actually,..I`ve had them since the late 70`s and the crash is the only survivor !! If I hit the HH hard enough,..it still sounds OK,..I hardly ever use the ride but it can`t take a hit,...and the zildgian just can`t be killed !! I got kids and I aint buy`n anytime soon !!
