I have accumulated a few cymbals over the years. I have sold a few and kept many. I just wondered if I am a hoarder lol. I have 58 cymbals at this time. Probably about 10 of them are cheaper b 8's, zbt's, wuhan, paiste, 4 cracked ones, the rest are IMHO very playable. How many do you have??

My setup has really reduced in quantity over the years, so I don't keep as many on hand these days. When I played HARD with large ostentatious setups, I would run three sets of between 25 and 30 cymbals each. These days, my setups are maybe five cymbals total. I run probably 7 different sets of that. I guess that puts me in the 30-40 range. It's not too many, really.

I'm gonna show my wife all your replies. Then she'll see that owning about 6 cymbals isn't so crazy after all. Maybe she'll even let me get a few more!
Um, Mikey, over 400 cymbals? Eye Ball Bit of a silly question here ... uh, why? Hmm, care to sell any?

While we don't own anywhere near 400 cymbals, my son who does most of the playing these days, needs many more than 6. He's a music major and working drummer. He plays in shows, big bands, small jazz ensembles, rock bands and funk. When it comes to cymbals, one size does not fit all. Almost all of of our cymbals are used on gigs, at least occasionally. Some, of course, are used much more often than others. While we could live with less, the cymbals we have allow him to make the best choices for each situation. Several more will be added to this collection as these cymbals surface and our funds permit.
