I have a beautiful mint 72 Slingerland 3-ply WTP kit (20x14 kick, 12 and 13 rack tom, and 16x16 floor),..... I'll post some side-by-side comparison photos with my 72 kit, if anyone is interested in how the wraps match up.
As promised, here are the pics of the 14" floor and 10" rack tom alongside my 72' WTP kit... stripes look the same, the wrap is less yellowed than mine.
Sorry the photos are blurry...I shattered both arms hangliding and my fine motor control has not come back yet so my hands are very shaky (which sucks for playing drums, darn it!)

hi, I purchased the wtp kit in question, for better or worse. up close ,the wrap looks fine, I love the kit for what it is. but the shells do appear to probebly be kellers. I checked the serial #s to the graph, tom and floor are late 70s, the kick appears to be early 80s. by the way I called and inquired from the seller, G -drums, they assured me they were original wrap, and slingy shells. will I buy again ? ........
That`s a beautiful wrap - pretty uncommon and very sweet- thanks for sharing the pics

Yep, I purchased one of the two snares, the 8 lug with the p38 style throwoff (I can't remember the details on the other one other than some of the hardware sounded sa little "off" to be a factory shell). anyway, it has a gold/black niles badge...the badge, serial number, lugs, strainer, shell, and other hardware seem consistent with a very early 70s 3ply snare. The wrap on the snare looks a little more aged than on the odd sized 8 and 10" toms I picked up, so I am inclined to think it is a legit originate wrap snare. It has a nice warm tone to it...I won't be tossing out my old (and beloved) 69 supraphonic, but the snares sounds good. I am toying with the idea putting an old calf skin head on it, once my arms heal enougb to start playing again.
Her are a couple of photos of the kit with the WTP snare in place of the Ludwig...

Slightly windy conditions, then unexpected gust/microburst about 30 feet up on final approach. Left wing started to stall and fall (even though I was carrying about 7k extra airspeed for windy conditions). I had time to level the wing, but did not manage to flare before plowing into the ground at about 25 knots... took most of the hit on my arms and chest before the glider cartwheeled...ouch... ended up with one broken humerus, a shattered humerus with damaged radial and ulnar nerves on that side, dislocated elbow, clavicle fracture, and cracked ribs, followed by surgery to put titanium plates in my arms and probably a year of physical therapy to get my arms back in shape as the nerves slowly heal..3 months down, 9 more to go!
