I realize that this isn't one of the kits that you listed on your "wish list" as a possible trade, but I was just wondering if you'd have any interest in this one:

1949 LUDWIG & LUDWIG WHITE MARINE PEARL “DETROITER OUTFIT”

BASS DRUM – 14X24

• Original L&L White Marine Pearl (WMP) “mellowed” wrap;

• All original L&L hardware (lugs, t-rods, bass drum spur mounts & spurs);

• Original L&L rack tom mount; original L&L cymbal L-arm mount;

• Original L&L wooden hoops with WMP in-lays;

• Original L&L Elkhart, Indiana Badge; L&L external muffler; L&L Comet Bass Drum Pedal;

• Original Ludwig Whitecalf Heads (both sides); and

• No extra holes in shell; no modifications to shell; “4904” stamped on interior of shell.

RACK TOM – 9x13

• Original L&L WMP “mellowed” wrap;

• All original L&L hardware ( tube lugs, rods, rims, rim clips);

• Original Mount;

• Original calfskin head on batter side; tacked –down bottom*; and

• No extra holes in shell; no modifications to shell; “4904” stamped on interior of shell.

SNARE DRUM – 6 ½ X 14

• Original L&L WMP “mellowed” wrap;

• All original L&L hardware (tube lugs, rods, rims, rim clips);

• Original “Universal” strainer, snare butt, and snare wires;

• Original Ludwig Whitecalf Head (batter side) & AMRAWCO calfskin head (snare side);

• Ludwig & Ludwig, Elkhart, Indiana” engraved in top rim; and

• No extra holes in shell; no modifications to shell; “4904” stamped on interior of shell.

FLOOR TOM – Leedy 16X14

The Leedy floor tom was added to the kit by the original owner. Based on the fairly close “fade” on all of the drums, I believe that the floor tom was used as an integral part of this kit over the last 60 years.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

It should be noted that the original calfskin head on the bottom side of the tacked-down rack tom had been ripped and removed. However, the original owner provided a piece of original calfskin, should one decide to have it remounted and re-tacked.

I'm honestly not sure whether I plan to keep this one or "move" it. I'd be more than happy to forward some pics, should you actually have any interest in it.

Thanks!

What do you mean "items off"? This kit is all original, only thing missing are the tom mufflers, 3ply clear maple interiors, dated January 14, 1969, last chance.

my mistake. thought that the badge and wrap had issues and that there might be a few t-rods off. i seem to have been mistaken.

Actually, they are not up for trade anymore. Had a friend come over this eve and we finished the floor tom. The wife decided that this one deserves the time and effort. She wants to see me play it. That's gonna take a while due to the healing time. Coming along great. Will post updated pics next week as promised.

Not much of a lamb, but I do feel your frustration. Gotta be tough when so many have your number. Good luck in all of life's pursuits. I wish you well.
