TRADE Rogers Red Onyx kit

I have a Rogers Red Onyx kit (about 67) up for trade. I am in the middle of the resto, so depending on when this goes down, it may or may not be put together.

20x14 bass (working)

16x16 floor (working)

13x9 tom (completed)

12x8 tom (completed)

plus

14 inch powertone red onyx snare (completed)

14 inch powertone cob snare (completed)

I'm looking for:

Slingerland late 50's early 60's Modern Jazz config (prefer red or gold sparkle)

Ludwig early 60's Super Classic config (prefer red or champagne sparkle)

These trade kits would need to be in pretty good shape.

If you want the rundown on the kit, check the restoration threads. It's a very nice kit. Here are a few pics of the completed toms. The 16 and the bass are still being worked on.

I have a 68 Slingy 2R Modern Solo in Blue Agate being delivered today. You've got a very nice kit there.

I do know where there is a red sparkle Slingy from the 70's same sizes, if you like I can look in to it. Maybe they will trade you.

I'm actually quite surprised that you're considering trading your Red Onyx kit after all the time and work you've put into it. It certainly is a great looking kit.

Good luck with your transaction and I hope there's no seller's remorse once it's completed.

Before I launch into the diatribe I feel is coming, let me say that there are kits I think about revisiting. They are few and far between, but there were a couple.

Sellers remorse - honestly, I've had so many kits pass through in my life, I just enjoy 'em while they're here. I have been at this drumming thing for a lot of years (started when I was two) and I have a drive to change my surroundings often. I don't ever wish to get too complacent. So, I keep myself in an almost constant exploratory mode. It's worked for this long, I figure I'll keep it up. I had about ten kits flow through last year. I kept one. I've got three more this year. I'll pick up another couple before years end. I guess what I'm saying is I really don't have time for remorse. It's too much of a negative thing and I'm having too much fun playing what I happen to have at the moment.
