Looking at the floor tom, there is a muffler rig missing. That spacing is identical looking to my MUJ toms. All of the simple mufflers look like that. I don't believe Ludwigs mufflers were spaced like, were they? Two holes, one small ounder the larger one where the adjuster rod goes in. Did Ludwig use these in the 60s?

Wow,The first main thing are the Badge's on the mounted tom's,they are WRONG my guess it that they are home-made out of paper??.A real Ludwig badge is more pointy at the top above the Ludwig name your's are rounded.Everyone told you about the bass Premier.Better shot's of the inside of tom's would help, but they look like M.I.J. tom's look at the ring's inside they look very small to me...You said you paid 300.00 for the set in the condition it's in and not knowing if all the tom's are ludwig i would have paid 100.00 for the set maybe 150.00 top's..To many question's if it's a real Ludwig set to me...Mikey

They did go to something like you speak of in 1968, the large round know mufflers that everyone associates with the B/O 1970's badge drums.

Mikey, those badges, while large and incorrect, are definitely NOT paper....they look embossed to me. They could be a replica casting in the wrong scale, or a very nicely done engraving......metal of some type for sure.....
I agree with you though, I don't think the toms are Ludwig at all.......
I'll take more pictures first thing in the morning..
The badge is not paper, it's metal, like usual badges.
The snare drum shell surface is rough, but the badge, based on everyone's opinion, is appropriate for a Ludwig. Could it be only the snare that is a real Ludwig. Or this snare is a fake too?
BTW What is MIJ toms/drums? I never heard of that.
Made In Japan
I think the toms ARE Ludwigs. The snare is almost assuredly a Ludwig Supra.
What is the badge number on the snare drum?
We need better shots of the interiors of the drums. Shoot the pictures with plenty of light in the room -like on a sunny day or something.

I've taken more pictures..
I've waited for the sun to shine these days, but nope, no sun. It rained.
So I took them with flash. Hope that they still provide infos that would be revealing.
I didn't take pictures of the bass drum, since it's already obvious that it is a Premier.
The snare serial number is 373544. The shell surface is rough, unlike the toms' finish, which are obviously painted. I try to scratch the snare's surface a little, but it's tough and hard. It looks and feels that it is original.
All toms had reinforcement rings inside. I opened the floor tom so you can see inside.
Ok, so?
If these are MIJ toms, are they good in quality, even if they're not Ludwigs?
Other question, the serial number of all drums are the same. Is this normal for a real Ludwig set?
Anyway, it could be a wrong decision to purchase these drums, but at least if they sound good and the quality is still good, I would be okay with that.

They are the same because that is a repro badge. It's a press, hence the identical look (including the serial number). It would be cost prohibitive to make unique serial numbers for repro badges.
