help indentify these drums

Given the information from the website below, and the fact that both of these snare drums are clearly Pearl made (you can tell by the lugs) doesn't it seem most likely that the BDP set on page 1 is one of the Japanese (Pearl made) Kent sets from the late 60s/early 70s?

Also, Stick-Saver copy hoops were fairly common on Japanese drums.

At some point, towards the end of the 1960’s, Kent drum shells were being imported from Japan and were no longer made of maple. However, the badges, hoops, and lugs were still American made (see photo below). By the early seventies, the E.W. Kent Manufacturing Company was selling only Japanese drums that were probably made by the Pearl Company of Japan.

The main difference between the two sets pictured are the chrome hoops on the badged MIJ Kent set. The lugs look the same to me, but it would have been easy for Pearl to make a close copy to Kent's lug for export. Both of the sets pictured have both Japanese and American features, further leading me to believe the set on page 1 is a MIJ Kent set.

My gess is, like the sling strainer ,the lugs also aren't original from the snare.

I would say these are the original lugs, it's just the strainer that doesn't belong on this drum. Those lugs appear to me as MIJ, although it is hard to tell with the lighting. They made some very good copies, and I can't see someone tearing apart a good Slingy to to put all the hardware on an MIJ shell, unless it was some young kid that really had no clue.....

If you wanna line up the tension rods with that shell, you have 2 choices. You put a spacer under the lugs or you just change them with wathever you have,as long as it fits the holes...

Giger.t, as far as I can tell, the lugs on the snare on page 1 are MIJ copies of the early (50s) Radio King lugs. The actual Radio King lugs didn't have the beefy rectangular frame around the oval shape. The rectangle frame is kind of a trademark of the Pearl made lugs.

The hoops look like the MIJ Stick-Saver copies. The strainer is obviously a Slingerland upgrade, most likely to replace the crappy MIJ Sling copy strainer (not a very reliable piece of hardware) that was originally on the drum.

If anyone knows better, please, chime in.

cn679! Everythings you said about the snare lugs, the rims and the strainer,to me, was abseloutely right, i'll never argue on that ,and for shure you have all my respect. My point was the fact that my snare dont have the sames lugs(and not the same strainer of course) and i know it's original cause my father bougth it ,from the music store back in the days and it was brand new ,as well as the rest of the kit. I'm restoring them right now...it's a lot of works. My brothers and i, we abused it pretty bad when we were kids, we even spray painted them cause we did'nt like the wrapDOH. I just finished wet sanding them and i did the B.E.on the snare. Anyway! i putted the snare back together temporarely... so this way you can see what the heck i'm talking about, and please cn679 believe me,the drums are FUJI.________GIGER.
