Hey could you do me a favor and measure the Ludwig logo (height x width). I'm wanting to get a repro made but need the size. I love that size logo on the blue/olive badge Ludwigs but can only find the vintage or the bigger new style. Thanks! If anyone knows of a source for the smaller 70's logo I'd really like to get a few for my kits.

The logo measures 6 1/2" x 1".

I will do that and do one better. When I pull the head off, I'll make a photo copy or scan it. Do you know of a source that can do an accurate repro with the white background?

If you don't... I do...

I have one, if you want it. I can take a pic, no, I have one around here somewhere.

Let me know what you've got, or where to send it...

In this picture it is laying on a bass on the floor, not attached at all, just a really nice, new logo sticker.

Thanks Ludwigs4life. I've been told to take a copy to any good print shop and they can make a sticker of it. A friend of mine works in a print shop and he said to bring him a copy and he would see what he can do. Could you e-mail me the scan and I'll see what I can do to have some made. As soon as I get around to pulling the head, I will do that. I am also looking for a copy of another logo I had that was from a 1970 bass drum. I'm curious to see if they are the same size...

I finally got around to scanning the logos off these heads but they were too large to attach to the forum. If anyone wants the images feel free to pm me your email and I'll forward them to you...

Whoa! serious mongrel kit. I like it! Clapping Happy2

I am on the way to something vaguely similar. I got a 14x26" Gretsch 1940's BD, have an old 10x14"single tension marching snare I am converting to a tom, a 14x16 1930's leedy floor tom (close enough for me), and a 402 snare I just had stripped of pitted chrome. I am refinishing it in a natural aluminum. All I need is the 18" FT.

Funny too, I just picked up a Luddy Standard set yesterday with the BD mostly filled with 1974 newspapers! LoLoLoLo

VERY cool! However,I believe you actually scored a Carmine Appice model lol. If you go to You Tube and search Vanilla Fudge, keep me hanging on,Ed Sullivan you'll see what I mean. Carmine turned Bonham on to the over sized Ludwigs. I saw them jam together at Singer Bowl,Queens NY circa 1970 or so at a Fudge concert. Bonham was so stoned,he had to be carried on and off the stage! It was a big jam session with jeff beck,Page,Plant,Rod Stewart,Glenn Cornick (from J Tull) o bass and a few others from the show. The bill was:Edwin hawkins Singers (Oh Happy Day) , 10 years after,Jeff Beck Group w/Rod Stewart and Ron Wood on bass and vanilla Fudge. The jam was un expected.

Good luck with the set! I'm working on a similar set myself right now in the maple finish.
