wrong person, didn't mean to send that post to you about the gold sparkle. I'm sorry. you have been very helpful, it's just that everyone has told me this is the place to get help, advice or sell, and I have been here all day, and have gotten nothing but negativity. Not selling them right, not the color I say they are, not this , not that. Just really frustrated. Really ust want to learn more about my set, and what I can do to improve. actually dont care if I selll them or not. Never played drums before, always wanted to and found this set cheap and thought cool, relive an old dream. found out what they were and thought someone who apprechiates them would want them before I break em not knowing what I'm doing. So again sorry and leaving this site. hope everyone reads this, cause thanks for chasing me away, and not being more like this man and helping

Worked on the 14 floor. It was in ... semi-rough ... shape. Wrap was pulling and was mottled and splotchy. Very dirty.

What kind of glue did you use to reattach the wrap?

Instant Grits and cat urine. I'm a southern boy and they don't make a stronger bonding blend.

Got a bit more work done this weekend. Time is tight right now. Counting the days to Summer break when I can finally do the serious work - DRUMS!

Seated the lifting at the seam on the floor tom. That went very well. I'll pop that pressure plank off day after tomorrow just to be safe. Used Liquid Nails for that one. Through trial and error, I found that it handles seams fairly well.

I also managed to clean up that filthy snare shell. Wow. Looks really cool. Interesting wrap, for sure.

Quick poll - I have an interesting development. I have a line on a 20 and a 12 to match my 14 (all red strata). Should I ditch the progress and just have a sweet red strata jazzer? If I don't find another strata 20 bass (other than red), I'm dead in the water anyway. What say you?

I would definitely grab the 20" and 12" and make an all red kit. Man, that strata is looking sweet!

Jump on the red 20 and 12!

I can't imagine you'll find too many 20" stratas. If you do find one down the road, you can always think about grabbing it then and restarting the mutant project. In the meantime, you'll have a beautiful red strata jazzer. Having just started playing a Ludwig jazzer myself, I can't imagine a lovelier-sounding kit. And red strata is just killer -- I wish they still made the finish.

Kits:
1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)
