Slingy Question

Ok, this is about as dumb a question as there is, but when you are sitting behind your vintage slingy kit are the words on the drum badge facing you or are they upside down (ie, are they are read normally from the front or back of the bass drum)?

Thanks,

James

James, you should be able to read the logo from sitting behind the drum

I have to believe we've all asked that question of ourselves at one time or another. Some of us have been driven up the wall until school

let out so we could ride the big yellow school bus home to find out for sure.

I am pretty sure you are supposed to be able to read it from the audience perspective (upside down to the player). The reason it is on there is so the drum company can advertise the product they are selling....so why advertise to the player? They already bought the kit!

Am I wrong?

Anyone else on this one? I am not so sure now!

I remember it like it was ... well, I do remember it. I was in elementary school and had drawn the most amazing picture of my kit. Ok. So it was pretty lame but it was cool to me. I got to the bass and flat out could not recall the direction of the keystone. Drove me mad all day. Rode that stupid bus home arguing with myself. Flew into the house and saw it. Peace. Happy Place. Calm. Tranquility. ... And an episode of The Flintstones!
