So sweet !! ....I'm not sure if I was a fan of Black Panther before, but I sure am now! Thanks for taking us through the process, I learned a lot!!When it's time to clean, what product would be best to keep that wrap looking A+ like you have it now? Thanks Poppy
Its not so bad now is it? :Santa:
When you put the new vinyl on your snare drum, did you also respray it with the black dye you sprayed your other drums with so it would match exactly, or did you just leave the new vinyl the stock color as it was?
I sprayed the vinyl to match the sheen of the black panthers. Like I said before, Black is black, everything else is grey. The sheen on the vinyl was a bit shinier than the dye Panthers. If I had it to do over, it would be a lot easier. I learned a few things during the process.

No problem. Just reheaded mine with Ludwig heads and shined them up. Adding some atlas hardware....selling off the modern hardware. Of course, now that thats done, time put put them back in the cases..... :(
Great match there poppy...and since that snare is a maple drum, and it is a Lud, I'll bet it sounds much cleaner with the vinyl top on it, eh?

Poppy: Congrats on your restoring work. I followed a lot of your advise. Heres mine completed. I used Baby oil instead of Armor All (it did leave a grey fading). Three coats of Baby oil. One for taking off the dirt and dust. another for stabilizing the previous one and the last one for shine. You guys Make sure to remove the excess...My wife gave me the Baby oil idea because she use it on our Black Leather sofa and it works marvels. It stays for months and touch ups are pretty easy, (And Cheap!...99 cents).
