confused 1940's or 1960's radio king

I have a 6 1/2"x14" radio king snare. I've bought correct three point strainer parts from a member on this site. Now my problem is how does the snare wires conect to the throw off?? I've looked at some of the pic's in the gallery found two good photo's showing the throw out and how it's conected to the snare wire. One shows like a metal strap that screws to the throw off from the top of the bracket. #2 I've seen again in the gallery, show a nylon string tied to the throw off and the snare wire? my question is I guess is which is correct. Right now I'm still using the old shoe lace but it's much shorter now lol. I've bought a set of the nylon straps for connecting the snare to the throw off, go to looking and there is really no way to connect the staps to the throw off, so I came here and started looking at the photo's in the gallery. NOW I'M CONFUSED which is right string or metal straps. and if it's metal straps where can you buy them?

my snare is the blue sparkle the other three to the right are from the galley.added a better pic of mine I've since this pic have replaced the missing parts from the throw off. the sting doen't rap around the strainer, it comes up thru the opening in the ring. the throw off does work this way but I'd like to make it correct. Even tho I'm still not sure what year it is a 40's or 60's and it's a 6 1/2 depth, not a 5 1/2. does that make a difference ?? Sure it does.
