Yes it is a great drum!!! I looked at the hardware section and it looks like it's a metal strap. Well now where does a guy find such an item. also it looks like the snare wire I have is too short. the others come out to the edge of the head and alittle past the head. Is there a place to buy this strap material and the correct snare wire to make my drum right.

Well kevin glad my wife's asleep so she won't know I just bought a fifty dollar snare wire. thanks man that was just to easy. Should be delivered around the 8th or the 9th of feb. cool man. This drum so far has only cost me the hundred I paid VaDrums for a three point throw off and now the snare wire at 49.99 w/shipping, oh! DON'T forgot the new Remo Ambassador Weatherking Coated heads top and batter. still not bad for this drum according to VaDrum it will be worth something when it's right.

ok it appears that there is a piece of steel plate the same shape as the bottom piece of the throw off. The screw goes thru it and tightens to hold the snare wire metal strap tight. mine is missing looks like I may be looking for one of those now!! Vadrums you out there?? any body else. I could always just make one but if I could find one already to go !! any comments

mr. pearl

ps.go to hardware and zoom in on some of the straps and how there are conneted one is up, one is down. both show some kinda plate holding the stap in place!! I'm just looking for the plate, will need it when snare wire comes in.

Puresound makes a set of radio king snares with the metal straps.

They're a bit hard to deal with. I'm sure there are discussions about their installation on the net.

I also find most puresounds a bit dark sounding for my taste.

The easiest thing for you would be to get "normal" snares...not extended ones, and use snare string.

Of course if you have the time and $, try both methods...

Here is the Pursound set up page for vintage wires.

Also, the forum and main web site are supported by eBay purchases through our eBay partner program. Every little bit helps. Just follow the eBay link on the bottom of any VDG main web site. It will take you to the support page.

Thanks and I'm adding the links here to help other people searching the same topic.
