I believe this is a Pearl. Those lugs look more Pearl like than any of the Star. They have that ridge, and are probaly light wieght. The rail is more Pearl like as well, I hate to say it, but this screams "not Star". It may tune up very nice if you lightly sand the edges to get the grain closed up. A nice, really smooth surface on that lauan makes it much easier to tune as there is much less friction while pulling the heads over. Are they round over edges? That would indicate a more 60s kit, while the sharper they get, the later they become. And if that fade is really even, you have a cool color going on, even if it is pinkish. Nice find. You get those cleaned, polished, new heads and tuned nicely and you'll turn some pennies. Not enough to warrant new heads, but a good set of say used, or the Attack 5 pack is a smoking deal! In the States, right now Ameriacan Music Supply (and someone else, Sam Ash maybe?) is selling them for 30+shipping. So for 40 bucks you get new 12, 13, 16, 22 and 14 snare heads. They also have a fusion set, and a 4 pack for $18, it is minus the bass head. And Cascio sent me a spamail the other day. I bought a new 20" Remo for 13 + shipping, 7, 20 bucks for a new bass head for my son's bass. It is a heavy, but for 20 you can't go wrong when you're sporting 45 year old skin.
