IMHO interesting modification of Amati drums.

Bass drum (1st. series) is probably assembled from two drums, toms and snare are series 2 (maybe 3). Hardware is part series 2, part something else. And hey, doesn't it look classy? Walking

Wow, i would like to add one of these sets to the drums i have just to have one or even a snare drum..What does a set like that sell for?? Mikey

Wow, Fllx - I haven't noticed before, what a shame - have you bought them? They definetly look really good (I was very close to buying similar, but passed them for older, 1st series and somebody beat me in the auction).
Just yesterday, my kick drum pedal and floor tom arrived.
I'm planning to sell the pedal along with my older kit (but I'll keep that pretty wooden beater) and to make a bass drum from the floor tom, because I need something portable and not very loud for our school orchestra/bigband.
It's 18"x15", original wrap and muffler are gone, so is bottom hoop and lugs. Plies divide at some spots (or what, how do I say it in English? :D), but I've alreday tried using it as a bass drum and I think it'll do just fine what I want from it.

I have a 20" blue sparkle bass that I found on ebay a few years back for $10. Made it even nicer that the seller happened to live 10 minutes away. Its in great condition and sounds great too. It has the same lugs on the bass in Gilnar's photo. Certainly not something seen often so as a collector and being part czech I couldn't resist. If anyone ever has any for sale or would know of a place to find matching drums to make a kit please let me know.
I recoated this Amati snare, bought very, very cheaply, a year ago just to get a grip on the process:

Originally it came in a horrid, undescribable space-black-green wrap.
I resanded the bearing edges and ended up with a very nice snare, that I sold on to a friend. Very solid lugs, 10 of them and a good stariner mechanism.
A weird thing was the rods - 6 mm and with hexagonal heads suitable for a 8 or 9 mm spanner....

Jon Petersen-is that snare conical?The picture looks 14" top-13" bottom.That's a nice drum-good work!
They stole their "neighbors" > (Sonor,Germany) idea of just drilling 2 holes thru the bottom hoop for the strings to pass thru.
