Judging by the lugs, they look like mid-90's onwards. They were still making the big one-piece lugs into the early 90's. Latter-day Premier stuff is an odd one. A lot of it is lauan, not good wood. (If painted black on the inside, that's probably the case. However some of the Genistas were released in custom Birch and they are great drums. I've never owned a set but a lot of UK guys swear by them. Those lugs look consistent with that time. If you could find out about the interiors it may help. I've just checked a few shots on line and come to think of it, Genistas look to have more rounded lugs, but I don't know if that's true of all genistas. It could be a latter-day xpk. I'll keep digging!

Well, I'd say stay away, because I'm pretty sure nothing of quality was painted that way, unless it's a custom job. I had a painted-black-inside set for years. I didn't realise how flat it sounded until I got a new kit - actually, and set of white Beverleys!

Well, I agree, for that price that's great, regardless of the wood - with the pedal, stand and cymbals too!! Put it this way, that kit over here with the items you described would probably go for at least twice what you paid!

Also, I've found out it's an APK in Opalescent Azure from 96-97. Nice wrap!

There's a forum called Mike Dolbear drums. There's a lot of British guys who post and because Premier's British I guess there must be a lot of Premier veterans on there. I just pasted a pic up of your kit and someone got back with the wrap and year!
