I seems to me that the very first photo reveals clues to solve the mystery. I see that the bottom of the cymbals are still reasonably close to the wall and if that is so then the bottom of the door could actually be raised a good bit. If you look on the right side of his legs there is a little color change horizontally between the foreground and what I think might be the cement foundation (it looks somewhat like the foreground) a little further back under the door jam. Just my two cents.
