Mike Layton killed in motorcycle accident

From grantro

mlayton was his username...Cheers

Thanks guys. It came to me a short time later. Short term memory is not what it once was. I wasn't acquainted with Mike, but probably read many of his posts and responses. Again, too sad.

Wow.

That picture that was posted of him at the Chicago Drum Show............my booth was very near his. We talked about cymbals, drums and life in general for a while. I had no idea it was mlayton, he just went by Mike. I remember walking away thinking "What a cool guy.....:

He'll be missed. I'm glad some of his kindness and love of vintage drums got spent on me. I'm glad I gave some back to him as well.

RIP Mike. I hope you are going through a giant room in the sky filled with all kinds of vintage drums and cymbals right now!

See you on the other side, Mike. Missing you ...

His image is entrenched in my memory by his big vocal voice & that weather beaten wooden fence rail.. the one that he

always displayed his immaculate Ludwig restored snares upon...

Rip Mike....
