They post pictures of drums that are not their own or are not the brand of drums that the forum is concerning. They post scam offers to sell bogus products that may not even exist. They ask people to post responses to phony appeals for sympathy for sick or disabled children. They basically want to harvest information to keep spamming people, scamming people, and hijack their identities. Go check it out.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I am so glad we're back. I have been checking in every day and I was really starting to worry that it was gone for good.

Hi BosLover! Glad you got in! This has been nerve-wracking for many! Not sure why it's so difficult for others to login, but the owner, David, is working with the hosting company to get this sorted out. In the meantime, many of us are still here...as is all the info and pictures from before!

leedybdp! What site(s) are you referring to? I really haven't seen this on VDF in the recent past, but have known this to happen some time ago. Those people were dealt with quickly and their accounts removed. Please share any info you might have. Thanks!

The group is called Slingerland Drums https://www.facebook.com/groups/2228639719 The group's founder and only admin died. No one was able to access control of the group. Scammers and spammers have infested the group and alienated many formerly active members.

Whether or not the questionable posts are by contributors from countries other than the United States, most of the phony posts are from people using Arabic names. I'm wise enough to know that "Abdul Aziz Farouk" might actually be "Jimmy Clyde Smiff" sitting in his trailer house, beer in hand, here in Texas with his pickup truck on blocks in his front yard and an arsenal of illegal weapons surrounding him.

Some folks are still having problems viewing and accessing the site using vintagedrumforum.com. Did you change servers or hosts? Seems it could be a problem with DNS. It's working for me but some of the traceroutes tools I'm running crap out about 50% of the time.

Thanks for the link! Since I don't do anything hosted on Facebook, I was unaware of this site. And, I see what you mean by all the "scammers and spammers"! I can't believe what's on the site!
