I was afraid that the scammers, who have taken the formerly-great Slingerland forum hostage had attacked this forum, too. Has anyone else seen what those bad people have done to that forum?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Our esteemed admin, tommyp, has yet to be able to login to VDF! I'm hearing the same from DFO members, too! Not sure why some can get in, while others can't. I first thought it was a DNS issue. I've been using OpenDNS for years now. I'm using my sister's computer right now, which is just using the DNS servers from Spectrum and got right in! I hope that David can figure this out!

Seems to be a DNS issue.

If you use open DNS servers

OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

And manually configure on your router or network card ,it works.

I tried Google DNS and the DNS my ISP uses assigns and it doesn't resolve correctly.

I'm noticing that this site is not trusted .

I'm wondering if the other DNS providers are blocking non trusted compliant sites?

I also use OpenDNS. However, I also used my sister's desktop computer, which uses Spectrum's DNS servers, and had no issues. I did mention this DNS issue with tommyp, who relayed it to David.

As for the "non-trusted" site, I've always gotten this, depending on how I login. VDF has never been a "secure" site, as it doesn't use https.

David is working with the web server site to attempt to get to the bottom of all this!

I work in IT and lately to make sites more secure, upgrades and patches are breaking things like mail clients.

I run an older version of Outlook and Gmail and Hotmail no longer work because Outlook 2010/16 are regarded as insecure.

Wordpress has had the same issues too.

So, what do they do when they take over a drum forum?
