Very nice! The wraps on the Slingerland, Ludwig and Rogers kits are easy to tell the wraps, but what's the name of the wrap on the Gretsch kit?

Not vintage, but this Mapex set was an experiment using countertop laminate for drum wrap. On the left is the set as I found it. [Attachment: 134285] [Attachment: 134286]Mike
Hi Mike!
I'm usually not a big fan of this style of wrap, but the one you chose for your Mapex kit looks great! What's the name of this wrap?

Thanks Mark. The wrap on the Gretsch kit is Gold Oyster from Precision.
Very classy wrap and it looks even better in person.
My fav rewrap was my Dayton Rogers set. One of the best sets I've ever played. Shoulda *never* let that one go. One of my worst mistakes. But, at the time, I'd just picked a rare Gretsch set in the same sizes. And already had a Clubdate in the same. But, it was the best of the three.......

Mark,
No idea what that countertop laminate was called. A buddy gave me two large rolls of it when he decided it wasn't right for his new kitchen. Check out these laminates online, but remember, they're a P.I.A. to cut.
Mike
My gigging kit. ‘58 Ludwig bass and snare. ‘70’s Gretsch toms. All orphans that had been badly drilled and otherwise molested. Wrap is Batik cloth. Inspired by the Slingerland Aztec series. And cheap to do. It was a challenge to myself to try to use all odds and ends outta my shed. It’s the Ludwig/Pearl mashup Tom mount. But, they sound great!!
Let`s see more rewraps!!
Cheers

This one was wrapped in Pionite. Usually used on countertops. Bad pic, it was a marbled blue. Super tough. Great way to go.....
