I'd trade those DW drums in ONE SECOND for that Vistalite kit. No doubt.

I'm sure the tone of the DW drums is MUCH more modern and impressive...And I never really was crazy about the way Vistalites sounded either....BUT, I'd trade in favor of that Vistalite kit in a second as an investment (if it's as nice as it appears to be). You can ALWAYS find DW drums (now, or for the next ten billion years into the future -due to the fact that there are SO many of them out there!) But a matching RED Vistalite kit WITH the snare drum? No contest, in my mind.

But if you don't feel right about trading, then go with your gut. No one wants to be unhappy!

On this, we can agree all the way. Am I correct in thinking that the DW drum set has the small lugs instead of the more desirable larger turret lugs?

Yes, it's a Performance with the smaller lugs. but I'm not sure "less desirable" would be always correct. A lot of DW guys on the other drum forums like the smaller (less mass) lugs :).

Yeah they MUST be free of any cracks and chips...but just looking at it, I get the feeling it IS minty!

I wouldn't worry about what the local resale market is. You'd be able to get a good price for them online -especially if you open up to international sales. The Japanese seem to have a strong desire for rare American drums. I'll bet they would LOVE to have that Vistalite kit!

It's rare to even have an opportunity to buy a matching, RED Vistalite kit with the matching snare -ridiculously rare!

There's one thing you can count on, the Vistalites will retain or go up in value, not so much for the DW Performance kit.

I actually had one of those Performance kits a few years ago, I believe I sold it for $600, it looked just like yours, but it was only a 12,16,22.

The vistas do look in great condition, well taken care of hopefully, the snare looks great, nice that they are the pointy badge as well

He sent me high res photos of the drums. I'm very impressed! We're supposed to meet Friday and inspect the drums. Crossing my fingers...
