This has the strikethru - accepted best offer price- still showing on page;

wonder still what it sold for. 150$ discount doesn't seem like much not sure that was the actual checkout price.

That's the beauty of Best Offers it's private- unless you call Ebay- and get a rep who will read the actual selling price

I'm also withdrawing from this thread (and VDF in general) as I did from DFO. That way I can concentrate on other things I prefer to be doing. Bye all.

Very sorry to hear this. Your insight will be missed. Thanks for all the valuable content you've contributed and best of luck to you.

Oh I think he'll be back eventually. He just went on a hiatus for the time being. Statistics can become a bit tedious over time, you know. I think we could probably all agree on that. And yet still I'm glad somebody (like Zen) is willing to do it, because I know I sure as hell wouldn't. I consider it tedious before even before starting. It's sort of like the skit "Chartered Public Accountancy" (Monty Python). So he probably just went off to spirit his herd of sheep across the verdant, hilly New Zealand countryside; fully intending to return around shearing time.

Thanks Joe. I've amended my database record. This means that eBay have changed the method I use to reveal the real best offer (which I learned from Biggles on Cymbalholic). If that method no longer works I'll have to rework some of my analysis procedures where something sells for best offer. It is a constant struggle to keep up with the programming changes they make at eBay. That's why I've been planning to phase out all price tracking. I'm also withdrawing from this thread (and VDF in general) as I did from DFO. That way I can concentrate on other things I prefer to be doing. Bye all.

Don't worry about it. Whichever way he went, those Maori trackers can always find him. But it'll cost $.

[QUOTE=zenstat;461923]I analyzed price per inch. It isn't the highest dollar per inch sale. That 18" comes in at $96.79 per inch. But there are 26 cymbals with a higher value. These are dominated by 22" Old Stamps which fetch up to $185.55 per inch. It looks like around $100 per inch makes a useful cutoff point for future summaries.

But you missed my point.

I wasn't concerned with comparing the price per inch of this 18" against 22" K's both new stamp and old et.al. I was simply pointing out that the price per inch of this particular 18" as compared to the price per inch of any and all other 18" K.'s previously sold is greater than we've yet seen.

And that's was my point.
