Sonor Teardrop question

Loading...

Anyone know what color inlays would have been a black 1960's/1970's Sonor Teardrop kit?

I picked one up - 20, 13, 16, matching snare and the bass inlays are missing.

Also, any suggestions for fixing some slightly bubbled wrap?

I will post some pictures once I get it all polished up.

Thanks!

Most of them were the color of the wrap. This cut would line up with the shell too. SONOR started using metal hoops in the 70's and one or the other was an option.

What is your wrap ?

Oddball, my drums are black. I saw one picture online that had a black kit with black inlay strips. It is interesting that they used the same wrap for the inlays as they did on the kits. My hoops are painted black, so I assumed there would have been a contrasting color like silver sparkle or chrome, as I believe I saw one with chrome strips.

I have not decided what I will do about the inlays. I may opt for a contrasting color. I need to figure out what I can do about the bubbled wrap before I do anything about the inlays.

Thank you.

Black hoops were on the flame wraps with the inlay too. All the colors.

Does anyone know the length of the straight cymbal arms that telescope into the bass drum?

Just asked that question myself elsewhere. 8mm rod with 6mm threaded end, 60cm length. Basically 5/16" x 24"
