John Lennon never said that about Ringo, that's a false quote. John loved Ringo's drumming. Nice try though.Coffee Break2

Only thing I like better than old drums is...New drums. Except maybe keep an old snare or 2, around.

Because with my brand of choice New sound identical or in that brand are actually sharper than the old.

So no bother, past using a vintage snare or two or three or four.

Once one get's past old drums (toms and bass) there's no going back and if one does it's a disappointment. Just not worth it.

identical almost applies to cymbals- almost.

It's good to stay fresh

Good for your mental well being. ha

Ringo wasn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles.” Never said by John Lennon. Jasper Carrott’s office claimed it as 1983 gag; proof now it was said earlier, in BBC comedy Radio Active in Oct 1981. It was said by Philip Pope. Written by Geoffrey Perkins. Not by John Lennon.

More popular than the Pope? I think you mean when he said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus.

Anyway, back on topic.

Black drum sticks, yuck!
