Cool or Not?

Loading...

So I've added a second 14" floor tom to my Norma kit. However, it's not a Norma, it's a Vibra. I don't think I ever would have found another red sparkle Norma, so when this came up at a nice price, I jumped on it. It matches up very nicely color wise, although the lugs are slightly different with shorter rods.

Now, I have an extra Norma badge that I was thinking of putting on the Vibra to make it all match. I'm not trying to deceive a future buyer, as I would tell them I put the badge on, or even remove it. I understand the next owner may not be so honest when he sells. This kit, while in beautiful condition, is not a BR Ludwig or Rogers, so my guess is nobody will care or ask.

So, what do you think, cool or not?Help2

I don't think that anybody will care but just tell them that you added the badge. Nice looking kit.

Keep fixing them up...

Thanks fx.

I kind of feel the same way. It's not a collector kit after all. We'll see what others think when they chime in.

in fact increases eye appeal.

I personally wouldn`t put the badge on it...Leave it as such...You stated the lugs are different, so, the drum is not a match anyways...

Just my opinion...

Cheers

Turn the badges away from the front of the stage, and who cares as long as the sound is what you want.

So we have a nice mix of opinions so far.

I'm leaning towards putting it on right now, thinking like jda, that it would increase eye appeal and make the kit look complete.

Besides, what am I going to do with the extra badge? Hmmm, maybe I'll start a badge collection!:D

I definitely see both sides to this argument! Still, they are your drums and you're free to do whatever makes you happy. The "Norma" badge, in and of itself, is pretty cool...and rare. I'm amazed that you would even have a spare "Norma" badge! Given that, sure, go ahead and put it on that "Vibra" tom. Who's it going to hurt?!! Is the "Vibra" badge attached with an eyelet grommet with fold-out wings? If so, odds are good that one, or both wings will break when removed. Just be careful!

For myself, my eyes would be drawn to the cool "Norma" badges and not the differences in the lugs. Post some pictures of the two toms next to each when/if you decide to switch badges. Good luck!
