Camco

I think $750 is way low for a Camco kit, even with some unoriginal parts.

I came across this dw Classic kit, designed after the Slingerland RK kits. It has an 8x12,14x14,14x20, $1,400, it looks pretty nice, bit it's not vintage.

Ha, no, I'm just in the market for a new kit, sorta a Christmas present to myself, just weighing all my options.

I like the dw because it's made like the RK kits and I'm looking for a smaller kit and ya, resale value does figure in. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, which I seldom do, I want to get something that will retain it's value.

Does it matter which one? It will only be a temporary thing.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Hey, I still have the Gretscherland, I actually bought a Slingerland 13" champagne sparkle tom off Reverb. I should have it in a few days, so I'm keeping this kit. I may sell the 12 that's in the picture.

I'm on your side johnnyringo.

Do what you want, sell, buy, have fun. I'm actually a polar opposite, I keep things to long and don't know how to get rid of things. I get to attached. So I'm living vicariously through you. Keep up the good work!

I'm leaning towards the Camco for $1,400, it's an Oaklawn kit.

It's an Oaklawn kit, I'll have to ask the owner about all the issues you pointed out.Btw, he wants $1,500.

If he’s asking $1500, you can get clarification on them and use the answers as a bargain chip. As far as a kit like that, with those sizes, even with the issues, it’s still a good deal in the $1200-1500 range imo.

I have a 12-16-20 kit with snare. Oaklawns are some of the best sounding vintage drums you can find, and built like a ship! There is a reason one pays up for them.
