Rogers Supreme Hi Hat Restoration

Hi all!

I'm sure most of you remember the 1976 Rogers Big R kit I recently restored. There was also a Supreme hi hat stand included, but the lower tripod stand portion was so badly rusted that I didn't even want to deal with it! I decided to dismantle the stand and keep any decent parts for spares. I took the tripod section to my recycle bin and was ready to toss it in. However, I just couldn't do it! I decided that if I could bring the Big R kit back to life, I might be able to do the same with this rusted stand!

Talk about a lot of work! But, here are the results of the lower tripod stand section. Pictures of the completed stand will be posted shortly!

I can't seem to get the second picture to show properly, due to issues with iPhone picture orientation. What a PITA!

You can always use it as a cymbal stand bottom too.

I cleaned up the entire hi hat stand! I'll post pictures soon.

I would say that a good deal of "Elbow Grease" was liberally applied on this job.

Hi Kurt!

Yes...a whole lot of "Elbow Grease"!! LoLoLoLo

I couldn't save the two large wing screws, but I had spares that cleaned up really well.

As for my "adult beverage", I just finished off a Neapolitan Shake (vanilla, chocalte and strawberry mixed together) from In-N-Out Burger!! Lots of empty sugar calories, but, hey, I deserved it!
