Could You Identify What Brand These Lugs Are? Please!

I know this is a cheap drum, but I would like to know what brand it is. So if anybody knows what brand the lugs are I’d appreciate you sharing, and that would tell me the maker of the drum. Feel free to direct me to another source of info if necessary.

Thanks to you all!

They look lilke one of the many variations of the lower end Pearl stuff. The bass tom holder is another indicator.

I have never seen these specific lugs before. If the hardware all came off the same drum,it's low end (due to 3/4"press-type mount)Royce style T-rods and the lugs...Tama Swingstar knockoffs.Search Ebay cheapo student drum sets.I've seen a few different lug shapes lately.I remember a complicated bass pedal from the 70's with the same footboard as that one.A chain,a strap and a bar connecting it to the top and bottom of the bass hoop-Jaques Cappelle.

This is obviously a contraption some jack$ss put together. It is a small Japanese bass drum with Tama Swingstar looking lugs, Japanese L-arm cymbal mount/ and also bass drum mount that someone obviously went to the hardware store and bought some nuts and bolts and attached some kind of mount to the hi hat stand. The kick pedal is twisted as if someone is trying to play it like a Tympani. Kind of funny if you ask me.

Did I insult you with the question? Why the name calling?

With the music I make, I can't use my arms to play the drums so I use only my feet. You might want to check here http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=9215&page=3 to see what kind of drum this is. Yes the pedal (a vintage Orange model think Orange Amps) is reversed and twisted to play like a Tympani. The Hi hat is a vintage Ludwig (1930s) with original vintage high cup cymbals. The other hardware is from a hardware store and the whole thing is in the "Rat Rod" asthetic. Google Rat Rod to get familiar with this, Wikipedia might explain it well.

Thanks for your input though!

Was gonna say they are definitely early Tama lugs...early Imperialstar or Swingstar lugs....but then I saw the closeup and no, they are NOT. Never seen those before. Definitely looks to be a FT which was rigged up with miscellaneous hardware...that mount is an old 1960's Japanese hex arm bassdrum plate.

All in all, from the pics on the other thread it looks to be a 60' or 70's Japanese drum...

Hi,I have seen the lugs like that before ,i can't recall the name of the set,it was a newer japanese one[1980s],it may not had a name badge on it,seems to me that the shells were 9 ply wood with-out rings...If the lugs were tama, and if you can remove one from drum, inside the lug it would have tama on it..But i don't think that these are tama's..mikey

Thanks Jaye & MIKEY777

Jaye, I checked out the Tama too and came to the same conclusion as you.

Mikey, with what little I know about these, you seem to be on track. I suspected possible 80s. I checked the plys and they seem to me to be 6 ply, but you are right no re-rings and no badges. The previous owner painted it flat black so I left it that way.

Now just to clarify, folks you don't need to bother with details on how this drum is assembled. I created this "monster" from the corpses of a trash set, it works great for my acoustic gigs. I used the BD lugs for the bottom beater head. Drilled a few holes and such. I wouldn't feel right about using a name brand drum or any other fine drum to create a cocktail drum like this. This was perfect for the drum I had been wanting to build.

I still hope we can identify the Lugs. The tom mount was from the same set as were the T-rods.

Thank you!

They could possibly be from HRK/Trak. A Pearl derivative from the 80s. I have a floor tom that sounds like a cannon. Nothing extraordinary about it, but it sounds great.
