I politely asked the seller how he came up with his opening price. His reply was... "Last set of these drums sold for 13,000"

Soon they will be like guitars and when supply and demand is null watch then 10 k could be a average Gary
Even better than the price the seller has 0 transactions !!!
I think it's curious how some are so concerned over what someone is asking for their drums.
That being said, I have questioned some sellers on their high price if I'm interested in buying and there's something wrong with the kit. I don't think anyone here would be remotely interested in this obviously overpriced kit. So, why bother dwelling on it?
It’s a sign of the future of our collection so if that’s what the market will bear for future reference so be it
I agree with the idea that it's odd that anyone should care what someone else asks for their stuff in a sale. Too much? Don't buy it!
This is all stuff that you can't buy UNLESS someone is willing to sell it.
If you want a 2019 Honda Accord....then you can go out and order one with whatever options and in whatever color you want and you will pay the MSRP for it -which will be "fair market" price...HOWEVER...IF you want a 1967 Mustang in unmolested, original condition, then what do you do? You wait until someone who has one, is willing to sell it. And you will pay whatever price they ask -the "unfair market" value. Otherwise, you're SOL and I hope you live long enough for another to come up for sale!
cant spell Rogers, cant get the date right either. At least he got in the right decade.
People like this seller should be captured and studied, to determine how to keep the world from getting any more of them.
Whether I'm interested in buying is irrelevant. I still have the right to ask, politely, how the price was determined. The seller responded back to me again and said that he's played all over the world since he was 18. (so, what's that got to do with anything?) He also said that Charlie Watts offered him this price. If Charlie doesn't buy them, then Joey Kramer will. My reply was to sell them to Mr. Watts!
Yes, sellers can ask whatever they want, but, I have the right to ask questions about price and how they determined this amount. The bottom line is that this seller is completely ignorant about vintage Rogers drums. And, yes, I did note that this is his first post AND that he can't spell "Rogers" correctly. What does that say about him?

And he really put zero effort into this sale.
A 3 line description and 5 really lousy pictures. I mean, if your going to ask top dollar, or beyond, you have to put the work in! At least the Ludwig Bonham guy made his sale interesting and put some effort into it.
