Here is my humble 67 Norma kit. I don't think I've seen one in this thread yet. I believe these were made and marketed by a Japanese company named Teisco, which made all kinds of instruments, from el cheapo to good quality. I actually think this kit is pretty well made. They also marketed Del Rey drums, which I believe were the more popular brand. This Norma kit is in very nice shape. Looks as though it led an easy life.

I'm a sucker for red sparkle wrap. I know its kind of common, but it just seems so perfectly classic to me.

Got this 20x14 mij bass drum for $20. It was in rough shape so I gave it a second chance. It pairs nicely with the 26" bass.

-Removed the split wrap and stripped the black paint from the hoops

-Plugged all the holes in the shell with dowels and sanded smooth

-Used Slingerland single tension tuning to give it a vintage marching drum vibe

-Fabricated legs & brackets

20 bucks - nice! It looks great and it looks like it belongs in that kit.

I'm curious, what does the rest of the kit consist of?

I'd like to try a project like that someday.

Thanks. Pictured is a 20s Ludwig bass 26x14 w/ single tension and a 30s Slingerland professional that was painted a very long time ago. I've also got three other marching drums I use as toms: 30s Ludwig 13x8, 30s Slingerland 14x10, 30s Slingerland 16x10.

Cymbals are all 50s or earlier A & K Zildjian or Italian.

This little center lug Tele-star kit was being sold off in four separate eBay auctions

I took a shot and offered 250.00 for all four drums and explained I would like to keep the kit together but the price also had to make sense

since no bids had been made the seller removed the separate listings and accepted my 250.00 offer The red marine pearl is sort of a darker crimson shade and they are super original

I'd say you got a great deal on that set.

I don't think he had a shot selling them separately. They needed to stay together.

Hello Jimmy and Thanks

What happens most times is someone will come along

who just needs the floor tom or the snare but most often it is the floor tom

That will sell right away, and the other drums will sit around some, until they eventually get sold off.

I have so many bass /mounted tom partials

(some with snares, but most just the two by themselves)

that I devoted a whole shelf in my display for them

I realized that for simple display purposes these bass /mounted tom partials,

when lined up one after another with the mounted drums set to basically the same angle and height

that they look pretty nice and can be positioned tight together

since there is not the need to find space for the missing floor tom on the shelf.

This way I can enjoy displaying them varying the colors as best I can rather being frustrated trying to complete them all

and then periodically the missing floor tom for one of them, will sometimes show up from somewhere.

As was the case with the blue sparkle Norma partial (pictured)

The floor tom I eventually found for it was not Norma badged

but otherwise is the same Star made blue sparkle drum with the identical hardware as these others
