Romulus,

If you are ever stuck again without a key, you will usually find that you can press down on the hoop with the back of your hand and loosen one tension rod at a time. This will almost always be the case unless someone has really cranked them too high. With B&B lugs, you're hoping that is not the case in any event.

Nice kit. Look for the wrap seams to be under the center line of the lugs. At least, that is the way it is with beavertails. Also look to see if the nails have been tampered with on the Rogers metal emblems and check the vent hole grommets for damage. The originals were chrome plated. Replacements are not.

Precision is what I'd call a re-vendor. Most of the wraps were made by Delmar and sent directly to the drum manufacturer's workshops. Precision carries wraps from Delmar, but I'm not aware of them carrying Mardi Gras. Walopus did a run, as you mentioned, but Steve Maxwell also commissioned some for his Gretsch and DW drums a couple of years back.

Dan thanks for the pro tip, and for your reply. I can’t remember seam line position, but when I felt around the shell, a wrap seam was prevalent. Thanks for the grommet tip as well, an obscure tidbit I would have not known, I went back and looked at the pics and see the very first has a chrome grommet under the muffle knob.

What Im not sure of, is the Rogers logo on the bass drum, look at how close it is compared to online images of Holiday bds with the single swivo port.

I would definitely drive up from MD to nab that set at $1800. Most MG sets have far more issues than here..

that does look slightly fishy ... but things did vary slightly over the years

but I agree it looks a touch close ... I'm not saying it is not factory but I would want a closer look inside if I were you.

I do think it is factory

here is my '65 Top Hat

Thank you sir. Yes that is one of my questions. So you’re thinking it’s a factory inconsistency? I just don’t know this nuance from Rogers and hope someone might have a logo that is close to their bracket. Everyone I have seen online has the logo at least a finger or two gapped away from this type of single bracket mount (or top hat). On the kit I looked at, the “g” looks really close against the bracket as I saw in person.
