Why are there two leg brackets on the FT ?

Are you referring to this image? If so it is a “knobby” for a cymbal attachment. This was a really cool design to attach things to the shell (don’t know the effect it had on those models of shells, though curious to know if the shells hold up with all attachments). For example, “The Showcase” model had a floor tom with 3 knobbys maybe even 4 that could convert into a cocktail outfit which is cool as hell.

that is a common factory install in this era

those knobby brackets could be used for anything from a cymbal to a cowbell or block etc...

not uncommon at all ... and definitely factory

That’s the ultimate ticket! I’m surprised the throne is not mounted as well.

*update, I have gotten cold feet exploring my options with my money while looking at/for other necessary gear instead, and will not pursue this kit. I just wished him well on his endeavors. Though it is rare and beautiful I just don’t think that I can pull the trigger, for me, the two different wrap textures just don’t do it for me, and seeing in person looked very noticeable.

For those interested, it is in Colorado Springs/Denver Craigslist ad maybe hes willing to ship - good luck and well wishes, again very pristine. As I touched and inspected the kit, was like holding new glossy shells.

To all who took time out to answer my inquiries- Thanks for your time and help, I’m sorry it wasn’t a fruitful conclusion. I am still not completely out of looking for a complete vintage kit, 60s keystones are what I’m really after.

Beautiful drums. Are there no tom mounts on the bass drum?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Don't you see them? I love that early collet set-up. I have a few and use a straight arm in front of the tom collet for a splash cymbal.

Congrats!
